The Dubai Turtle Rehabilitation Project

Based at Jumeirah's beachside hotel, Mina A'Salam, the Dubai Turtle Rehabilitation project runs in collaboration with the Emirates Wildlife Protection Office. The Projects aim: to care for, protect, and rehabilitate sick turtles, while also raising awareness of the threats faced by marine turtles. A total of 562 turtles have been rescued and released since the project began in 2004. Some have been fitted with satellite tags, allowing the folks at the project to trace their former patients and learn more about these endangered creatures.

To see these amazing reptiles yourself, visit the turtle pools at Mina A'Salam – they're open to children and adults starting at 11am on Wednesdays. Admission is free.
